MANZAR Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-28
Status: Draft, not reviewed by a lawyer.
1. Who this covers
This policy covers everyone who puts anything on MANZAR: print shops and their staff, and the clients they send request links to. It covers photos, videos, print artwork, logos, text, links, AI wishes, lead form fields and anything else uploaded or typed in.
A print shop answers for what its clients put on MANZAR through its request links.
Breaking this policy can get content removed and an account closed. See section 8.
2. The two rules that come first
You must own what you upload, or have the right to use it. That includes the photo, the video, the music inside it, footage you did not shoot, logos, fonts and artwork. Finding something online does not give you the right to use it. Neither does buying a print of it.
You must have written consent from every person whose face appears in what you upload. For a child, you need the written consent of a parent or guardian. If you cannot get consent from someone, leave them out. Keep the consents, because we can ask to see them.
Remember what publishing means here. Anyone with a scan link can open the design and share it on, and viewers can record what they see.
3. What is never allowed
Do not upload, link to or publish:
- anything illegal where you are, where we operate, or where the print will be scanned;
- any sexual content involving a minor, real, drawn or generated. We remove it, close the account, report it to the authorities and keep what the law requires us to keep. There is no warning and no second chance;
- intimate images of anyone without their consent, including fake or AI-made ones;
- pornography or other sexually explicit material;
- content that attacks people for their religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, disability or a similar trait, or that threatens, bullies or exposes the private details of a private person;
- graphic violence, or content that praises, promotes or recruits for terrorism or violent extremism;
- malware, phishing, or anything meant to harm the phone of the person scanning;
- content that pretends to be another person, business, brand, charity or public body, or suggests that someone endorses you when they do not;
- film, music, photos, trademarks or other material you have no right to use;
- other people's identity documents, medical records, contact lists or other private information;
- scams, fake offers, fake reviews, counterfeit goods, or false claims about health or money.
4. The Two Holy Mosques and sacred subjects
MANZAR Haramain lets people keep a memory of Makkah and Madinah. That carries a duty.
Do not upload anything that mocks or disrespects the Two Holy Mosques, the rites of Hajj and Umrah, the Qur'an, the Prophet (peace be upon him), or any religion or its followers.
Do not use Haramain imagery to carry advertising, political messages or unrelated promotion.
Do not suggest that an experience is linked to, approved by, or run for any authority responsible for the Two Holy Mosques. MANZAR has no such link, and you must not claim one either.
When you film at the Holy Mosques, follow the rules of the site and the law of the country. Photography is restricted in some places and at some times, and keeping to those rules is your responsibility.
We remove content under this section quickly, and when in doubt, we remove it.
5. AI animation
AI animation turns a real person's photo into moving video, so it carries its own rules.
- Animate a person only with their written consent, and a child only with a parent's or guardian's written consent.
- Do not make a real person appear to do or say something they did not, in a way that could mislead, embarrass or harm them.
- Do not animate public figures to suggest they back a product or a message.
- Do not use a wish or a custom prompt to try to get around the content filter.
- Do not publish a clip you have not watched.
A job blocked by the content filter is not charged. Repeated attempts to get round the filter can lead to suspension.
6. Print shops and their clients
If you run a print shop:
- Your client's photo and video belong to your client. Use them only to make and print what your client ordered.
- Do not copy, keep, repost or sell a client's content, or use it in your own marketing, without that client's separate written permission.
- Tell your client what they are getting, how long it stays live, and that anyone with the scan link can see it.
- Check what you publish for a client. Names, numbers, prices and offers must be right.
- You answer for what your staff do in the console.
7. Lead forms
If a design collects leads:
- Ask only for what you need.
- Never ask for card numbers, passwords, national ID numbers or health information.
- Use the details only for the purpose stated on the form, and never sell them.
- Honour opt-outs and deletion requests from the people who filled in the form. Tell us at [email protected] if a request needs action from us.
- You are the one collecting those details, so data protection law makes you responsible for them.
8. What we can do
We can look at content when we have a reason, such as a report, a payment dispute or an automated flag.
We can remove content, take a design offline, disable a scan link, refuse to publish, or suspend or close an account when we reasonably believe this policy or the law has been broken. Where the content is seriously harmful or illegal, we act without notice.
We do not refund content removed under this policy. See Refunds and Cancellation.
We do not check uploads before they go live, and we cannot promise to catch everything. If you find something that breaks this policy, report it (section 9).
An account that keeps breaking this policy, or that gets repeated valid copyright complaints, will be closed. Do not open a new account to get round a removal or a suspension.
9. Reporting something
Report anything that breaks this policy to [email protected]. Send the scan link, QR code or shop page, a sentence or two on what is wrong, whether you are the person affected, and how we can reach you.
For anything involving a child, or an intimate image of you published without your consent, put URGENT in the subject line. We deal with those first.
10. Copyright complaints
If you own the rights to something on MANZAR that is used without your permission, email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright complaint".
10.1 What your notice must include
- Your name, postal address, email and phone number.
- The work you own, for example a link to the original or a description clear enough for us to recognise it.
- The scan link or file address of the material you object to. A general pointer to the site is not enough.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that your notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for the owner.
- Your signature, on paper or electronic.
10.2 What we do
If the notice is complete, we remove or disable the material as quickly as we reasonably can, normally within 5 business days. We tell the person who uploaded it what was removed and why, and we pass on your notice.
We do not decide who owns what. We act on valid notices and pass on valid counter notices.
10.3 Counter notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, email [email protected] with the subject "Counter notice". Include:
- Your name, postal address, email and phone number.
- What was removed and where it was.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury where that applies to you, that you believe in good faith the removal was a mistake.
- Your agreement to the courts of Mauritius, or of your own country if its law requires that, and to accept legal papers from the person who complained.
- Your signature, on paper or electronic.
We pass a valid counter notice to the person who complained. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have gone to court, we may put the material back.
10.4 The DMCA
These steps follow the shape of the United States DMCA because it is a fair and familiar process. We have not registered a DMCA agent with the United States Copyright Office, so we do not claim DMCA safe harbour.
10.5 False complaints
Sending a complaint about content you have no rights in, to silence someone, can make you liable for their costs and losses. Do not do it.
11. Changes
We can update this policy. The date at the top changes when we do.
12. Contact
